When I was at the stored the other day i saw a new book, the first in a new series based on the "#1" written on the spine, written by the same dude the wrote the novelization for big top, I think his name is Ken Howard It had a release date of January 2012, so it has been out awhile, and I think the title was "hotel horror" or something along those lines.
I can say that the quality isn't as good as the Gelsey ones, it's printed on a lower quality paper and the pictures are black and white. But I think it's better then nothing.

Very interesting. Let us know when you find out more. Your in luck. I was at Wal-mart again today and grab as much info as I could to do a little investigating, and here is what I found. First, the title is indeed "the hotel of horrors" Second the ISBN NUMBER. ISBN: 978-0-545-38676-0 And finally I found this site with quite a few details. www.perma-plus.com/ViewDetail/61274-hotel-of-horrorsLooks like I had the name wrong. My apologies. It did have a publication date of January but I didn't see it until I made the first post. So I wonder if scholastic put a hold on it or if Walmart just dropped the ball. If anybody finds anymore details please share them.

They even dress up as knights in shining armor. But when the two buddies hear there's a vampire haunting the place, they decide they'd rather flee than fight! Hmm. I could have sworn it said January. Oh well.
Wasn't the first a Wednesday? Books tend to hit on Tuesdays.

I believe you. More questioning myself.
BTW did you see the comic storybook on that page? That's a new series as well. There's an ad for the third installment on the big top novel.

I'll post a review here in a week or 2 if anybody is interested.

Here is the Scoobypedia entry for the first book. scoobydoo.wikia.com/wiki/Scooby-Doo!_Mystery_1:_The_Hotel_of_Horrors If you do some digging you find entries for the next 2 as well. #2 The Frozen Giant is scheduled for release on December 1st 2012. #3 The Haunting of Pirate Cove is scheduled for release on February 1st 2013. I'll post all 3 covers later. **It looks like you'll have to copy that link down and try it. For some reason it doesn't work.**
