The Walking Dead Season 2 premiere is tonight! Also the new after show "The Talking Dead" hosted by Nerdist podcast host Chris Hardwick premieres right after the encore episodes. ****Potential Spoilers Ahead**** The title of the episode is "what lies ahead". And this is the dish network description "rick leads the group out of Atlanta; the search for someone who has gone missing." I wonder if the "someone who has gone missing" might be Merle dixon.

****Once Again, Possible Spoilers Ahead****
Tonight's guests on the talking dead were comedian Patton Oswald and writer (of Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead and the 2 theatrical Scooby movies)/director James Gunn as well as franchise creator Robert Kirkman via satellite.
Next weeks guests will be comedian Brian Posain(sorry if the spelling is wrong on that) and franchise creator Robert Kirkman(probably in studio this time).
What did you guys think of the season premiere and the series premiere of the after show?
My thoughts: The season premiere was pretty good if you ask me. I was wrong about who the missing person was. The ending with the shot of Carl walking toward the deer then 'BOOM' credits was a good cliffhanger.
The after show is alright, but it does need some work. I wonder if AMC has a problem with the panel driving mac trucks through plot holes on "live" tv?

****SPOILER WARNING****
The title for tonight's episode is "bloodletting". And once again, here is the Dish network description "Rick discovers a possible safe haven; Shane must go on a dangerous mission to get needed medical supplies". And just a reminder, tonight's talking dead has franchise creator Robert Kirkman and comedian Brian Posain.
What will Lori and the rest of the group think of what happened last week? When/Will Rick and Shane find Carol's daughter?

Maybe I'm just very easy to please but out of the 8 episodes that have aired I don't think a single one of them is a weak link. By the process of elimination there has to be a worst episode and if I was forced to pick I'd be kicking it over until next week.
****Once Again *SPOILERS* Ahead****
The teaser was a great scene. We saw when Shane first told Lori about Rick being shot right before Carl got out of school. Which was beautifully acted by Sarah wayne callies, John Bernthal, and the once again teary eyed Chandler riggs. The scene was very reminiscent of when rick first got to camp last season.
Chandler, for once, was given more to work with in this ep then just crying because of something to do with Rick. I'll be honest, with the stuff the kid is doing it's blatantly obvious...the kid has chops!
Once again Daryl dixon proves to be a badass. While he still wants to know where his brother is(and he's still PO'ed about what happened to him)he is willing to help and protect the group so he can survive, which is more then we can say for Merle.
Shane went looking for supplies with Otis, the man who accidentally shot Carl last week, at a FEMA outpost at the local high school(if I remember correctly)and the episode ended with them being stuck between a rock and a zombie hoard.
I'm still not sure if I like "talking dead". I think it'd be better if it was taped. Maybe they should show the new episode to the studio audience then take their questions so they don't have to worry about doing it live to get questions from twitter, email, or call ins. It just feels like it could do with a good edit.
I like Robert Kirkman, he's a great writer, but as a guest on the show he spent most of his time saying "we'll explain that in the coming weeks" or "I'm not able to talk about that just yet" and it just got annoying after a half hour. I understand that it's true but he can barely talk, so why have him so early in the season?
Next weeks guests will be the star of "The Guild" Felicia Day and John heder(someone I really can't stand).
Did anybody else see either? Let me know what you thought.

****Spoilers****
Tonights title "Cherokee Rose". The dish description "Shane makes a deadly sacrifice; the group tries to hang on between living to die or dying to live."

****Spoiler Alert****
Just a few quick thoughts on this weeks episode and the state of the show all around. First of all, and this isn't really a slam, but by the process of elimination there absolutely HAS to be a worst episode, just no way to avoid it, there's a best ep and a worst, and I think I finally found that worst episode. Last weeks episode just bored me at parts but other parts had me on the edge of my seat.
Now on to this week! Did! You! See! The! Well! Walker! That is the reason I love this show! Sure it was kind of dumb if you really analyze it, the zombie ripped apart and there was a bit of blood but when half of it went back into the well there was buckets of blood. But the stones on the AMC execs to actually air that? (Slow clap) I applaud you boys and girls. This episode was very well even without the gore. I was watery eyed when Rick gave Carl his hat, something comic fans have been looking forward to. Glen's stuff was really funny in the pharmacy. Daryl dixon has really turned into a great character. Instead of the racist, ignorant, moron that he seemed like mid last season. The way he tried to comfort Carol (who's daughter is still freakin' missing. ARGH!!!) With the Cherokee rose was very sweet and almost unexpected. Judging by the preview for next week that could all go away. Cause guess who's coming back? No, not Otis! Merle dixon! We don't know how Merle and Daryl interact, maybe the ignorance was something Daryl picked up to try to impress Merle or get his attention.
I saw a clip of Daryl falling down a rocky water fall with one of his arrows sticking out of him, maybe he might not get to see Merle's return, we'll find out next week.
I didn't watch the talking dead so I can't say who was on, if anybody wants to let me know it would be appreciated. But I pretty much think I'm done with that show. But if somebody wants to cover that, again, I'd appreciate it.
So until next week, BYE BYE!

*****SPOILER ALERT*****
This week's episode is titled "chupacabra".
And the dish description "the group makes a plan that Hershel disagrees with adamantly".
What could that plan be? They already seem to be on thin ice with Hershel, I don't think making him mad will help. But I really I just hope they find Sophia soon, it's starting to get on my nerves a bit. No clues, no progress, maybe no hope...

As expected ***Spoiler Alert*** Here's an interview walking dead creator Robert Kirkman did with Zap2It.com about what characters to expect in the second half of season 2 or into season 3, including comic fan favorite Michonne. blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/11/the-walking-deads-robert-kirkman-more-new-characters-including-michonne-in-the-works.htmlHe also talks a bit about the mid season finale on November 27th, saying to expect some resolution to some of the threads that have been dangling. Does that mean Sophia? Man I hope so. Now on to last Sundays episode. Was it a good ep? Yes! But man did I feel a bit burned by Merle being just a delusion of Daryl's. I'm also left wondering if maybe that walker chewin' on Daryl's hoof didn't maybe get a hunk of toe jammed flesh. The way Daryl seemed to want to turn against the group after the gnawing was a bit fishy since he's been dealing with the group so well lately. Sophia...ah, they poor youngling seems closer to zombie chow then survivor with each passing episode. Which is exactly what Otis' good buddy Shane is trying to tell Rick. And while dealing with that, Rick also has Hershel on his back side every time one of the group sneezes in the wrong direction. And it seems like ol' hershey wants to kiss (HA, see what I did there? Hehehe) the group good-bye sooner rather then later, and we're gonna find out why soon enough. But more on that in a sec. Andrea and Dale seem to slowly be getting back on somewhat steady ground. I understand she wanted to end on her own terms but Dale never forced her to leave the CDC. So I'm glad to see that. Another note about Andrea, she shot Daryl in the face cause she didn't want to pay attention to everybody telling her not to take the shot. He's fine but sheeze! It was close! The group will no doubt have to deal with some form of backlash from their host for this and another reason, as your about to read. Glen and Hershel's daughter (for the life of me I can't think of her name right now) are having a bit of a "Start! Stop! Start! Stop!" Mostly because she's...crazy or worried what hershel will think/say. Then she warms back up to glen, who suggests a roll in the hay loft. Which leads us to finding out why hershey boy wants our merry band of survivors off his land. THE CRAZY OLD COOT HAS ZOMBIES IN HIS BARN!!!!! WHY? I DON'T KNOW!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!!! So a good episode and a good cliffhanger. Why does Hershel have the walkers locked in the barn? Will Sophia ever be found? Will Merle ever really come back for his revenge? Will Hershel in co find out about what really happened to Otis? We have 2 more episodes to find out before the 2 month wait for new episodes to return again. Oh and FYI, issue 91 of The Walking Dead comic is out today.

We now know who Chris Hardwick's guests will be this weekend on the talking dead. And I've got to say, they won me back...at least for this episode. Actor/Comedian Paul f. Tompkins, whom I don't know much about, and writer/director/ppodcaster Kevin Smith, Who I'm a huge fan of! I'll gladly stick around after TWD this week for sure!

****SPOILER***ALERT****
The title "Secrets" and dish description "Glenn knows too much for his comfort level; Daryl finds a sign of life and tries to make it back to the farm alive".
And tonight's guests on talking dead are Kevin Smith and Paul F. Tompkins.
Clearly that description is a bit off. Daryl made it back to the farm last week, barely alive thanks to trigger happy Andrea. That could be a signal of him being hurt worse then we know(as I guessed last week). I wonder if Glenn will spill about the barn, and how will Rick and the crew react to that? But we'll find out about that and more in just a few short hours.

What's up people? *Spoiler* *Spoiler* Real quick here's what I thought about last weeks ep, which was a goodin'.(Forgive my bad memory) As we saw Glenn couldn't Bear being camp secret keeper, telling Dale about Lori's baby and the walkers in the barn. It was good that Rick and Lori finally addressed the Elephant in the room and I'm glad Rick didn't get to outta sorts about it. After all they did think he was either dead or dying. Dale has stepped into the role he has in the comics, which is almost Yoda-like. He was always ready to give advice before but after last week, where he was movin' around talking to everybody, I feel we're finally getting true Dale. Rick and Shane giving shooting lessons to the group is very foreboding of what will happen to a certain "aneshay"! Shane's attitude toward Dale is also very frightening, I actually thought that Shane-o might take Dale out there for a second. So it was a very good episode and a lot was dealt with. It's weird, with a lot of shows they'll go a week or two without even mentioning certain storylines yet this show seems to hit every nail on the head at least once every week. It's refreshing yet it makes reviewing kinda complicated, not that that's a bad thing. Talking dead was great as well, it truly was the only episode that made me want to watch again. But I'll admit I'm very biased. Kev was on fire and so were Paul and Chris. I'd be fine if they brought those 2 back every week with one rotating guest, but that would probably require a longer time slot to give everybody a chance to speak. Four people trying to get their thoughts in in just a half hour would probably have everybody talking over everybody else and it would just be a mess. So I'll just say this, I hope they Bring Kevin back soon! Now on to this week According to recent interviews with Robert Kirkman, we'll be getting lots of answers to the burning questions on tonight's episode. And once again I must say "PLEASE let them find Sophia!!!" Now here's the title "pretty much dead already" the description for tonight "secrets are told and revealed; Hershel refuses to acknowledge the world's new reality". And don't forget that tonight's is the last ep until next year.

***MONDO-MEGA-HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD***
*sigh* it is with great sadness that I finally get to tell you...they finally found poor little Sophia. There was a lot packed in this episode but that is what stands out the most. Her body was found in the barn...she'd been bitten by a walker. As the weeks went on I think we all knew this was more and more likely to be the outcome of her story but that doesn't make it any less sad. But this does illustrate quite a few things. 1. Though they do parallel one another quite abit, the comic and the TV show are 2 different things. And 2. They are not too afraid or worried about fan backlash that they won't kill off anybody! On talking dead(more on that later) Robert Kirkman revealed how she got to the barn, a story that I'll share here. Back before the group got to the farm, Otis was the person who would round up and cage (barn?) The walkers for the future. He, like most on Hershels farm, believed that this epidemic, for lack of a better word, was just temporary. That the government would find a cure, what they didn't know then(and don't seem to want to accept now) is there that isn't a government left. And Shane killed Otis before anybody had a chance to say anything about Sophia.
Now onto the other highlights. Glenn and Melissa had yet another tif (this girl is almost as crazy as Shane) which lead to her breaking a precious egg over Glenn's head. The world goes to pot and this chick it wasting precious food sources because Glenn didn't keep the fact that the walkers were mere yards from where he slept a secret! She did call her dad out on the fact that he kept calling Glenn "the asian boy" so that is one point for her...as opposed to the 37 points against her for her stupidity.
Shane's spiral into insanity has (big surprise!) continued. He scared Dale so bad that he, Dale, took the bag of guns and was going to hide them in the swamp. When Dale was hiding them Shane showed up ready to fight, Dale threaten him with his rifle yet Shane pressed on. Dale basically told him that he belongs in this world gone mad. Once Dale gave the guns over he headed for camp to rally the group to head to the barn.
While this was going on, and after a bit of arguing between Hershel and Rick about if the group should stay or go, Hershel and his son, if I remember correctly who the young man is, took Rick to get 2 more walkers for the barn (this is when Hershel tells Rick what Otis' duty was). It seems Hershel is warming up to the idea of letting the group stay, after Rick told him about Lori's pregnancy, so part of the reason they took Rick with them is so they learn how to deal with walkers the way Hershel wants it done. They get back just as Shane is headed to the barn to take out the walkers. Shane kills one of the new walkers and breaks the locks on the barn door, letting lose the horde inside. After taking out what appears to be all of the walkers out comes Sophia. Carol, Carl, Lori, and the rest see her, the 3 I mentioned seemingly being the most effected. Nobody wants to take the shot, but one man does the job...Rick steps up as Sophia nears the group and puts her out of her misery.
A few other quick tidbits: Carl has his gun once again, with Shane's recent craziness I don't see him surviving until the end of the season. Andrea is finally getting off of Dales back about her still being able to walk around, they almost seem to be close to where they were before Amy died. I feel Lori is starting to wonder about who exactly the father of her child is. Glenn finally showed a bit of backbone and will probably be better off for it. Daryl and Carol are getting closer and closer, since he was mainly focusing on finding the kid.
So, to wrap up, this season is off the charts so far. And I can't wait until February for the new episodes to resume.
Now onto talking dead. This weeks guests were almost as good as last weeks. As mentioned above Robert Kirkman was one of them, and this time he got the chance to talk a little bit more. Special effects make-up genius Greg Nicotero and, Daryl Dixon himself, actor Norman Reedus were the other 2 guests. This episode was a full hour and it was much improved for it. Much like last weeks episode, this one was a lot of fun and gave me hope for the future of this (I almost hesitate to call it this, don't think I'd call a morning talk show one either) series. Nicotero said that they filmed Sophias big reveal twice, once with no prosthetics and once with them, and that one of them was to be the way the group would always see her. They mentioned quite a few things that were shot and cut or shot and just redone for other reason and I can't help but hope some of that stuff makes it to a disc. And though I complain about it a lot, I kinda hope that this after show finds it's way to a disc as well. Hardwick showed of Norman's Daryl action figure, Norman said he saw it and immediately started working out so his arms would look like the figure. That got a laugh from me. Oh, I can't believe I almost forgot about this, they took 2 calls that were really good. One from Laura holden, Andrea, and the other from music legend ALICE COOPER!
So. We've come to the end of the road for this year and the show just keeps getting better. Can it get better? Of course, but that's not saying it isn't already great. Hopefully it stays that way. What do you guys think of the show so far? Please don't hesitate to let us know, I'll be glad to talk about it with any of ya. ;D See ya next year!
