I'll hold my nerd rage until I see a brightly lite version.
But I do have a pro and con for now. Pro: I like the cape! Con: he don't look "supermanly" to me.
This seems to be promo art, at least to me.

I'm a bit tired of studios giving us these darkened teaser images. I mean they did that with Spider-man then Dark Knight Rises and now this. Is it too much to ask for to get a well lite still so we can actually see all of the costume instead of being forced to guess what they changed.
Interesting changes though, the suit seems to be a lot more textured than previous versions, and oddly enough he appears to be wearing a ring. And I do agree about the cape, it looks pretty good.

Yeah. I wish they would give us brightly lite, straight on, non crouching, just plain old turn around style shots at the costumes.
On his right middle finger? I think that could be a blurry spark.

You may be right about that, it could be a spark.
I hope they don't make this movie too dark or gritty (which seems to be the trend for the moment).

The suit actually has a similar texture as the Spider-man suit.

I like them, there simple and small towny. www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=10176This is a small plot description that their using for casting, it's very vague on what's going on of course but some details are let out.

I apologize for not being able to post these pictures myself, but here are some set pix of superman at the kent farm. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=81251Look really close at the fourth picture down, for 2 reasons. 1. Hehehehehe, look at that dude with the captain america shirt. Is it wrong that that makes me so giddy? 2. You can see the almost purple arm, yes that's a freakin' purple arm, of the man of steel. Maybe one of these days they'll get the colors on the suit right.

And a full on shot of superman. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=81427So what do you think? The more I see from this movie the less excited I am for it. Once again their screwin' up the super suit. But I'll still give it a shot.

Agreed, ever since that first picture I've had a bad feeling about this movie, and these pictures don't make me believe any differently. Also that costume gets worse and worse looking, those crappy colors and I can't believe they got rid of the trunks. I swear they're trying too hard to be Dark Knight (Not every superhero needs to be gritty and real, sure it worked for Batman, but Superman is known for being uplifting and inspiring so I think it's a mistake to darken a naturally light character).
Worst of all though I do see the resemblance to Burton's vision of Superman, and that scares me. Who knows though, this could work out, but what we've seen isn't exactly confidence inspiring.

Exactly!
I have to say though, I want more realistic superhero movies. Once there grounded in reality there more believable, but superman shouldn't be real and believable.
A baby from a dead planet who comes to our world and gets extraordinary powers from the sun and can be killed by irradiated chunks of that dead planet? That is in no way believable!
Now it can be set in a realistic world, like "SMALLVILLE" was, but once you introduce that character it makes it less so.
Stop trying to make superman someone we can relate to. As much as I wish I could, I can't fly or shoot twin beams of flame from my eyes or chuck a robber across a city.
What they need to do is just go for broke, throw it all on the line and make it a over blown sci-fi/fantasy movie. Thoughts?

Well then this oughta tickle your fancy! www.comingsoon.net/news/moviesnews.php?id=81630Dun that just look...well, HORRIBLE!! Why is it so hard to just go with the classic costume and colors? WHY?

Oddly enough, I feel the same way I feel about the new Spider-man suit. I don't like it as much as that, but it looks fine to me. I think having the red trunks there would make it look more silly than it already is. And no S on the back is fine{how many S's do you need really?}

I don't mind not having the shield on the back, but the briefs are essential. With out them he looks like a naked blue, whoops I mean burnt purple, dude with a white face. Does anybody miss the yellow belt?
