Who here is a fan of the Evil Dead trilogy, the films being Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness, and which is your favorite?
Mine would have to be Evil Dead or Army of Darkness. Those are the two that popped for me. Not that Evil Dead 2 is bad, it just didn't work as well for me.

And here you go kiddies, it's official! www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=79795Alvarez will write AND direct the remake. Still no word if bruce will be on screen at any point, but I do hold out hope. I find it fascinating how fast this went from "we have it on good authority" to "OFFICIAL".

Here's a little bit about the new movie. A description, a few plot details, but most worrisome confirmation of Diablo Cody's involvement. I saw juno, unfortunately, and Jennifer's body, again to unfortunate personal results, and I have to say I simple do not understand the appeal to her writing. Juno was plain goofy, with dialogue that made the stereotypical annoying valley girl speech patterns seem cute by comparison, and Jennifer's body was bad...just bad. slashfilm.com/the-evil-dead-remake-synopsis-sounds-lot-the-evil-dead/The thing that gets this group of kids to the cabin is the main character is trying to help his sister kick a drug addiction, and while she is going through detox starts acting crazy which they just think is a part of the detox but is turns out she is possessed. Which sounds good on paper but could be dumb on screen if handled wrong. But again my faith in Sam leads me to believe both of these won't be a huge problem. Please Sam, don't hurt that trust!

Here's a little snippet of a TV guide interview with Bruce Campbell, by way of bloody disgusting, where he talks a bit more about the no Ash situation(WOOOHOOO!). www.bloody-disgusting.com/27201Essentially he says they didn't cast a new Ash because they didn't want to put the pressure of the role on a young actor. Fearing the direct comparison could be overwhelming. A sentiment I completely agree with. So once again, there is still hope that Bruce will show up at some point as Ash.

Evil Dead 2 came out on blu-ray this past Tuesday, it's around $10 at walmart. It's got a great documentary on it that runs about an hour and forty minutes long. The movie is great, the commentary is great, and its just a great set all around. I highly recommend it.

Sony has set a release date for April 12th, 2013. It's interesting that they set it a year after "Cabin In The Woods". I'd almost bet if that movie tanks in that release spot they'll move Evil Dead. I would think right around Halloween would be prime time for both movies, or like a week or 2 before so as not to go up against "Paranormal Activity".
Whenever I find an official link that works I'll post it.

Whenever I find an official link that works I'll post it. And here's the link from coming soon. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=85000I found this this morning as well. www.moviehole.net/201150056-exclusive-some-spooky-spoilerish-story-details-on-the-evil-dead-remakeIt is heavy on spoilers, which I won't reveal here, but I will say this. It sounds like an Evil Dead plot, but it doesn't sound like the Evil Dead franchise. What was great about this franchise was that, at it's very foundation, it was funny. Sure it was bloodier then almost everything else, but it was so funny, whether it was intended or not. And this just sounds like Saw but with one huge trap, that being the cabin. It's funny the news on this is a bit like a rollercoaster. One piece of news gets a cheer and the next makes your stomach drop out then the next comes and you start feeling good again then another bit comes out and the car jumps of the track a bit and you start fearing for what's to come. But I'll have to grab the bar and wait a year and a few months to see how it turns out.

We have the first announced cast member, that being Lily Collins. Supposedly she'll be playing the knuckelheaded junkie trying to kick the dope. I know nothing about her so I can't say if this is good news or bad. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=85640

Shiloh Fernandez and 2. Jane Levy. I'm not 30 yet but it makes me feel VERY old that I have no bloody clue who any of these folks are. And I realize using words like "folks" isn't helping my case here but... Once again I can't say if this is good or bad news for the project though.
