I would say any true fan of Sam Raimi's loved that movie. It had his trademark humor. That dance down the street was all him. Don't believe me? Go watch the evil dead trilogy. Venom being shoe horned in was all studio pressure from what I've heard. So what do you think?

I felt it was OK but wasn't as good as the first two. Also shoving three villains into one film seemed like a waste.

From what I have read sam wanted to use 3 villains, just not the three that were used. He wanted to use harry, who had been built up as a villain, lizard, who had been teased in the first 2 films, and sandman. And just tease venom for the 4th film in his spideyverse. But at the time the exec's didn't think lizard would carry a film so they shoe horned venom in.

I actually like Spider-man 3 more than most. But I do have some issues with it.
Like strangely said, shoving three villians into one movie was a lot. Topher Grace was a great Eddie Brock up til he became Venom. Venom in this movie really kinda sucked. I actually think "New Goblin's" costume is worse than the one in the first movie.
Oddly enough, Sandman was the best character in the movie. Too bad his storyline didn't get resolved.
And then there's the chesse. The hammy chesse. Yes, I know it's Sam Raimi's style, but it doesn't really fit Spider-man all too eell.

Dr.Conners was already introduced so just taking him one scaly step further wouldn't have felt as rushed as Venom did. And they could have still added in Sandman without hurting that character. Could have set up the whole Venom/Eddie Brock story for the next movie by having Pete get the symbiote, get rid of it, and just show or tease Eddie getting it. If that had happened I truly believe that movie would have been 100% better, but as I said before it sounds like Sam had a bunch of cooks up in his kitchen screwing with his recipe. I will admit he took the cheesy comedy to far, but I think it was a good thing because Spidey isn't a dark tortured character. Yeah, he carries a high amount of guilt over what happened to Uncle Ben but he always maintained a upbeat attitude that I felt was sorely lacking from the previous 2 (except when he lost his powers in 2, then he was superhappy for a short time). But I will concede it was a few steps to far in the cheese direction.

Have Eddie be a background character and save Sandman and Gobby Jr. for the main villains.
