So um, this kind of came out of left field and caught me off guard. www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=80789So this makes me think they wrote 2 scripts at once and that they may have Webb locked for the sequel already. What do you think? And for that matter, are you even excited for the first?

So um, this kind of came out of left field and caught me off guard. It's not really surprising I guess. They were working on Spider-man 2 when the first movie came out. That's possible. Sony hired the same screenwriter to write "Spider-man 5 and 6". This was before the reboot was announced. I think one of those scripts was really for Spider-man 4 and the other for ASM.

Well its good their working on it. I mean it takes years to get sequels and it's annoying waiting 7 years for 3 movies. Hopefully they can keep a better pace then the last movie series.

I caught me off guard because they normally wait until the first movie is coming out before they make announcements about a sequel, not almost a year before.
I'm glad that their working on it too but I just don't want them to rush. Just look at the Scooby tv movies and you'll see what rushing can cause.

Comingsoon.net confirmed today that Andrew Garfield will reprise his roles as Pete and Mark Webb will return to direct. Emma Stone is in talks to return as Gwen. The script is one that Vanderbilt already wrote, so it looks like we were right Ross.
I find it very strange that they didn't set the cast up with multi-film deals.
What do you guys think, good news or not?
I still haven't seen AS-M so I can't say.
